This hotel was in a perfect location; immediately after the entrance to the town of Gananoque off of the Thousand Islands. This is one of those hotels that is a series of small outdoor structures the way small attached townhouses in a residential community would appear. The benefit of this format is that I can literally park my car in front of my hotel room and have quick access to my car. Inside the room there was a lot of floor space. The ceiling was slanted and was made out of logs which gave it a a rustic appearance. Staying in it gave me the feeling of living in a log cabin. The brick wall behind our two beds provided warmth to our room. The hotel had an outdoor pool, but no indoor pool. A free continental breakfast was provided including hot coffee, various juices, a waffle-making machine, various cereals, breads, and flavored yogurt. This hotel was only 1.5 miles to the shore of the St. Lawrence River where you can make reservations to ride on a tour boat that navigates the Thousand Islands region. The tour company was directly across the street from this hotel making it very easy to reserve either a 90-minute or 3-hour tour. My family opted for a 3-hour tour that presented a more thorough historical tour of this region.
This quaint motel still has some of its sixties charm though it could use a few more upgrades. The motel is conveniently located just off of the 401/Thousand Island Pkwy Service was excellent and friendly for our short stay and check-in was simple. Our room in the 100 section was quiet and had new carpet though the bathroom was a bit dated. Wifi was also very slow. The continental breakfast was basic but in line with most similar offerings these days. A good basic place to stay for a visit to the Thousand Islands.
The location of the hotel was very central, and right across the street from multiple restaurants and mini-putt. The service from the staff was extremely pleasant and thorough. The room was well kept, had AC, comfortable bed, a cozy cottage feel, and a hot shower; however, it had an odd musty smell that would not go away. The pool and continental breakfast were nice added touches and the drive-up rooms were also a nice feature. Overall I would recommend staying at this Ramada with very minor reservations about the quality of the room, but for the price it was well worth it.
We stayed at this Ramada for one night during a camping trip. It was an unexpected stay as we had booked somewhere else which did not meet our expectations. My husband went in to book at room while I stayed in the car with our two very cranky little ones. After booking the room, he comes back out and tells me he just met the nicest woman at the front desk.Their rooms were nice, clean a little older but in good shape. Our stay was pleasant.Their continental breakfast is excellent. Waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, juice, sweets etc. Way more than the donuts and coffee we were expecting.I met the woman that checked us in the night before and she is the reason Im giving the hotel five stars. Thank you for being so warm and inviting. It made a difference to us and Im sure lots of other travelers along their way.
I got ripped off!! This is by far the worse place to deal with! I called to book with this hotel on Aug 3 at 11pm, and was given a rate of $152/night. Gave credit card info and was told thereafter it was ACTUALLY going to be $193/night. Told them forget it, Im not booking because its bad business to give someone a rate, take their card info, and then tell them after its going to be $40/night more. They booked me even though I didnt give consent and considered me a no show which is bogus. I didnt show up because I didnt confirm booking! Took my money and now have been dealing with a headache of trying to get my money back which probably isnt going to happen. SCAM ARTISTS! Thats alright, keep my money. Ill probably cost you more in writing reviews so that people will know the truth of your bad hotel and wont book. People, do yourself a favour.. book someone nicer and honest, like a Best Western or Holiday Inn.
