A neat museum and nice staff. We were here just for some time.
Really enjoyed this museum!Three levels of displays, artifacts and information plus gift shop is a description that does not give this location enough credit. Prepare to spend at least an hour or two exploring thousand islands history & people - and set aside some time to pick out a souvenir or gift on the way out! This is a donation run museum and sometimes visitors aren't sure what to donate so I'd recommend $5-10 per person and at least $20 for a family because it's really worth it.
Great museum! Free, donations appreciated. Depicts history and geography of the 1000 Islands region. Second floor is quite extensive and has a great 30 minute movie on Boldt Castle. The only drawback is that the exhibits seemed to have no order. I read about the war of 1812 then turned the corner and read about life in the 1930's. I couldn't find any chronological pattern to it. All in all, a good little museum.
A small museum with lots of fun historic peices.
Neat and fascinating. I wish that I had had more time there.
